How can I maximize my Instagram Marketing?

If this is something you have asked yourself recently then this short post will hopefully answer that question and provide you with some awesome tools that will help you with your Instagram Marketing.

So by now you have your Instagram account setup, whether it be a personal account, or a business one and you have set yourself some clear goals on what you want to achieve on Instagram and used this to create a content plan.

Now what?

There are 3 key areas when you start out with your Instagram marketing and there are some great tools to help you in each area.

  1. Content
  2. Management
  3. Analytics

Content

These Instagram tools will help you create awesome looking content that suits your personal or professional brand and help share it with your growing followers, website visitors and more.

The first 2 tools are widgets to embed onto your website, so that visitors can see your most recent Instagram Stories and even your highlights.

Each of these are fundamental in your Instagram Marketing.

A lot of people aren’t aware of some of these tools, most of them free, that help you better create, manage and understand how well your Instagram Marketing is doing.

Here we go, these are the Instagram Marketing Tools I recommend checking out.

The Instagram Stories widget by Snappd is another great way to embed your latest activity from you Instagram Stories account onto your website. It has a pretty cool dashboard too that shows previous stories and analytics on each of them.

Canva is one of my ‘go to’ content tools. It provides an easy to use way to create beautiful creatives for all social media marketing, offline marketing and more.

Canva have a few Instagram Marketing resources including:

Canva is a free tool that will provide you with most of the templates and resources you will need. You can also purchase images for $1 each, that can be used in your designs.

Canva also offers a business plan that starts from $12.95 per team member/per month.

Management

A good set of management tools will help provide consistency, engagement and better planning for your Instagram Marketing.

Since Instagram’s recent release of their publish API, some of our favourite social media management tools now provide the ability to not just publish from outside of Instagram, but to actually be able to schedule posts.

This feature is for Instagram business accounts and if you you want to change yours from personal to business here is a great article on how to do that. If you are not sure if you should have a personal or business account, this handy infographic from the guys at Later will help you.

Here are a few tools I recommend using for Instagram management and growth.

Hootsuite is an old favorite for many social media marketers. It was one of the first to provide features such as ‘auto scheduler’ and posting to Instagram using their push notification solution.

They are now one of the first to utilize the Instagram publish API and their mobile and web based too allow you to post and schedule your Instagram posts.

Hootsuite is free for up to 3 social profiles and paid plans start from $39 per month.

Buffer is a very clean social media management tool and just like Hootsuite one of the first to utilize the Instagram publish API. Buffer provide a great way to upload, then publish or schedule your Instagram posts directly from their web app or mobile app.

Buffer is free to use for up to 3 social media accounts and also limits the number of posts scheduled per platform to 10. You can upgrade from just $15 per month.

Later were one of the first companies to provide a way of scheduling posts to be shared on Instagram as their name suggests. It also provides a great way to manage your content and also to search and tag related content on Instagram.

Later is free with a limited number of posts per profile, but you can upgrade from as little as $9 per month.

Analytics

Knowing what content your followers interact with is of the utmost importance. Creating content that your followers actually want is fundamental and being able to use analytics to understand this will help you adjust your strategy and identify what type of content you should be creating more of.

As with the management tools, most of the better analytics available are for business pages.

Instagram provides a great out of the box solution for key details about each post, story and engagement.

Hype Auditor is a great way to analyze any Instagram account (ones that are public that is). This can be very useful in getting to understand who your follower base is, but also a great way to research any Instagram users/influencers you may be thinking about working with.
