AI SEARCH READINESS CHECKLIST

Your next client may ask an AI assistant before they ever see a search results page. Is your site ready to be the answer?

What's inside

  1. 1

Crawl and rendering checks most sites fail without knowing

  2. 2

Fact-first structure that makes clean, citable snippets

  3. 3

A monthly measurement habit so you can actually see movement

One email with the file. One follow-up with a single question. Nothing else.

If you would rather have this done with you than to you, this is the work I do. See services

Checked in the order that matters

The first item is whether your pages serve real content without JavaScript, because every later item is wasted if an assistant receives an empty page. After that: whether a plain answer sits near the top of pages that answer a question, whether your business identity is consistent enough to attribute, and whether anything is said about you on domains you do not control, which is how assistants decide who to name.

Different work from traditional SEO

Search returned ten links and let the person choose. An assistant returns one answer and often one name. The overlap with SEO is real but the emphasis moves: machine readability and corroboration matter more, keyword placement matters less than it used to, and website work is usually where the fixes land.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What is AI search readiness?

Whether an AI assistant can read your pages without running JavaScript, verify your claims against sources you do not control, and resolve your business to one consistent entity worth naming.

Does my site need to work without JavaScript?

For most AI crawlers, yes. Google renders JavaScript. Many assistant crawlers fetch raw HTML only, so content that appears after scripts run is invisible to them.

How long until changes show up in AI answers?

Retrieval-based answers can reflect site changes within weeks. What is baked into a model's training data will not change on any timeline you can plan around, which is why the retrieval side is where the work belongs.
