LEAD TO SALES HANDOFF QUALITY CHECK

When sales says the leads are junk, another email thread will not fix it. Build the agenda for one calm meeting: the facts first, one written definition of a good lead, what happens in the first forty-eight hours, and a single experiment with an end date.

How it works

  1. Say what is broken right now.
  2. Tick who will be in the room.
  3. Choose the length, then generate the agenda.
  4. Do the pre-meeting pulls yourself before the meeting. Walking in without them turns the meeting into opinions.

Build the handoff quality meeting

What is broken right now?
Who is in the room?

Two roles at minimum. A handoff meeting with only marketing in it is a planning meeting.

Meeting length

Nothing you enter here leaves your browser. Close the page and it is gone.

Your meeting agenda will appear here.

Run it as written the first time. If the conversation keeps coming back to records being wrong rather than leads being weak, the problem is data and the CRM hygiene spot-check is the better hour to spend.

A meeting aid, not employment or performance management advice. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere or stored.

The argument is almost never about lead quality

It is about two undocumented definitions, a follow-up window nobody agreed to, and a feedback loop that consists of somebody sighing in a meeting. Walk five real leads through together before anyone offers an opinion and the conversation changes shape, because both sides are looking at the same records instead of at their own summary of them. That is the entire reason the first block of the agenda bans interpretation.

One change, for a fortnight

Teams under pressure change five things at once and then cannot read the result. One change, one measure, one end date in the calendar, and the next conversation has evidence in it. If the meeting keeps returning to records being wrong rather than leads being weak, the problem is data, and the CRM hygiene spot-check is the better hour.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Is this a website handover guide?

No. Website handover is about site ownership and assets. This is about the quality of the handoff between marketing and sales.

Do we need operations in the room?

Helpful when the definitions live in the CRM, and not required for a first thirty-minute reset. What matters is that marketing and sales are both there.

What if we have no data yet?

Then the meeting is about what you will agree to look at, and the pre-meeting list becomes the first job rather than the preparation.

Should we change lead scoring first?

No. Scoring an undefined thing is usually how the argument started. Write the definition, then decide whether scoring is worth the effort.
