PLAIN-LANGUAGE PIPELINE CONTRIBUTION CALCULATOR
Put sourced pipeline, influenced pipeline and marketing spend in one place. Get the ratios with the formulas beside them, and a plain-language paragraph you can paste into an update without anyone reaching for a calculator.
How it works
- Choose the period and the currency.
- Enter marketing-sourced pipeline and marketing spend. Both are required, everything else is optional.
- Add influenced pipeline, closed won and opportunity count if you report them.
- Calculate, read the ratios with the formulas beside them, then copy the paragraph into your update.
Your contribution ratios and the paragraph will appear here.
Paste the paragraph into your update, or into the one-page marketing report. If the argument you are walking into is paid spend against revenue rather than pipeline, the blended efficiency calculator is the one to use.
Arithmetic, not financial, audit or attribution advice. Attribution models differ and so do CRM definitions. Confirm both with your CRM and finance owners. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere or stored.

The argument is always about the definitions
Nobody disputes the division. They dispute what counts as sourced, what counts as influenced, and which costs belong in marketing spend this month. That is why the definitions are printed next to the ratios and repeated in the paragraph: so the conversation happens once, in writing, rather than every month in front of whoever asked. Settle sourced and influenced with sales operations before the meeting. Doing it during the meeting costs you the slot.
What the ratios do not prove
A high pipeline-per-dollar figure is not evidence that the spend caused the pipeline. It is arithmetic on two numbers you already report. Incrementality needs holdouts, geographic splits or planned pauses, and none of those live in a calculator. Say that out loud when you present it, because the person who works it out later will trust the next number less. If the argument is paid spend against revenue rather than pipeline, use the blended efficiency calculator.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Is influenced the same as sourced?
No. Sourced means marketing originated the opportunity under your CRM rules. Influenced means marketing touched it. Agree both definitions once with sales operations and use them consistently.
Can I enter the same pipeline in both fields?
Only if your process genuinely separates them. If influenced already contains sourced, put the incremental amount in influenced or leave it blank and say so in the update.
Does this replace the one-page report?
No. It produces the ratios and a short paragraph. The one-pager is the layout you leave behind.
Do you store my figures?
No. It runs in the browser. Nothing is sent to a server and nothing is saved.
