SALESFORCE FOR MARKETING TEAMS

Most answers of the form Salesforce cannot do that are really permissions, definitions, or the wrong question. This digest translates marketing jobs into plain Salesforce language and gives you the ask, worded so a ticket gets answered.

How it works

  1. Tick the jobs you need help with this month.
  2. Mark your access level if you know it.
  3. Go through the digest and mark each line: you know it, you need it, or it needs operations.
  4. Copy the ask pack into your ticket. Worded requests get answered, vague ones get queued.

Nothing you enter here leaves your browser. Close the page and it is gone.

Your digest and the ask pack will appear here.

Send the ask pack as written. If the blocker turns out to be the state of the records rather than the configuration, the CRM hygiene spot-check is the next hour to spend.

An orientation aid, not Salesforce training or legal advice on consent. Editions, licences and customisation vary. Confirm everything in your own org with your administrator. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere or stored.

Ask better, wait less

Marketers rarely have administrator rights and rarely need them. What they need is to describe the request in terms an administrator can action: which object, which field, which permission, and why it matters commercially. A vague request queues. A specific one with a reason attached tends to come back the same week. That is what the ask pack at the bottom of the tool produces.

Where the reports actually go wrong

Time zones, campaign member dates against created dates, converted leads excluded from a report nobody knew was filtered, and sharing rules hiding records from your profile. Four causes explain most disputed marketing numbers in Salesforce, and none of them are a capability problem. Where the underlying issue turns out to be the state of the records, the hygiene spot-check is the marketing-side version of the same question.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Will this change anything in my Salesforce org?

No. It is documentation and wording. Nothing connects to your org and nothing is stored.

Is this Salesforce training?

No. It is orientation for marketers who work in an org somebody else administers, aimed at the handful of things marketing actually needs.

Does it cover Marketing Cloud?

Only where it touches the core objects marketers report on. Platform-specific configuration belongs with whoever administers that platform.

Why does it keep telling me to confirm things?

Because editions, licences and customisation vary enormously between organisations. Anything asserted here without confirmation would be wrong somewhere.
